Getting to know me!

I'm so glad you are visiting my blog! Here you will see some of my latest and hopefully greatest work! Congratulations on whatever event you may be planning in your life! I don't claim to be a writer, just a photographer.

I'll talk about me just a little bit; I don't want to bore you!

I graduated with a degree in photography in 2004. I started out in the portrait biz but soon found a passion for weddings. I love doing what I do, and couldn't be more blessed! I thank the Lord every day for allowing me to follow my heart!

Newborns ~ Liam!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Liam.  What a cutie he is.  We did the 10 days or younger rule so that you have a sleepy bendy baby.  Well he was not happy with me at all for interrupting his morning routine with a silly photo shoot! I’m still so happy with how these turned out!  I mean he has so much personality at 10 days it’s amazing!  What a gift from God he is!  I couldn’t narrow it down more than this so I hope you enjoy these!

Tiffany and Abe Maternity Shoot

On our original schedule shoot day the wind blew and it was about 30 degrees so we knew it was best to reschedule.  Then it snowed and then it was beautiful and 60.  I’m so glad we waited for the weather to be on our side to do these portraits.  I really don’t think the day could have been any better.  I met Tiffany briefly at Chick Night about a month or so ago and we set up a time to do maternity photos.  I haven’t done any maternity shoots in ages so I was a little nervous.  All I knew was I wanted to focus on their love for each other and the baby that came from that love.  I didn’t want it to be all about the bump.  Of course we did some token bump shots but I think overall these will be a fantastic way for them to look back on and remember how much love they have for each other and their baby!

Chick Night 3

Last night I had the pleasure of having a booth at C3 Chick Night.  I LOVE my church and I LOVE the fact that they have a night for woman to come and worship together.  C3 has blessed me with the opportunity to get my name out in the community so I want to bless the community back…

Introducing All Abou You Sessions!

I’ve been doing “All About You” Sessions since I started photography school but I’ve finally put a name on it!  As most of you know Boudoir Sessions are all the rage right now, well I’m waaaaaaaay to shy to shoot these and I know a lot of other woman are way to shy to get in front of the camera in their skivvies!  Just because we don’t want to do that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate our beauty that God has blessed us with right now! I hear so many women say that they aren’t photogenic (including myself) and I want to prove to every woman that they are and having your photos taken can be tons of fun!  As an introductory special there are NO SESSION FEE’S, one free Facebook image and introductory packages for your All About You Session  so call or email today and book yours!

Sophie and Joshua ~ Studio Portraits

Here are a couple of shots from a shoot I did with my nephew and niece a couple of weeks ago. I have to say Joshua looks just like Sophie did at that age!  They are the cutest kids ever, but I’m a little bias I guess:)!

Be on the look out for my first studio special next week!  I’m so excited to start my monthly specials!:) YAY!

Lynn and Casey ~ E. Session

I met Lynn this past fall when I over heard her asking for directions to Enchanting Moments Bridal boutique.  You see my studio is practically across the street from there and I was getting ready to head back and work so I offered to show her the way.  She was so nice and asked for my card because it seemed a little like it was meant to be.  I’m so glad they chose me to be their wedding photographer.  I had a chance to get to know Lynn and little better and meet Casey over Christmas when they were in from Chicago.  They didn’t want anything “posey” they just wanted to have fun and I think we got some great shots that show their amazing relationship and personalities!  Here are a few from the day!

New Year, more blogging!

So this past weekend I went on a photography retreat with one of my best friends Julie, her sister Emmie and the lovely Kendra.  We thought it would be fun to go and just talk shop for a couple of days down in the beautiful city Wilmington, NC.  We had planned on getting out a shooting a lot but if you have been keeping up with the south you know it’s been FREEZING and that just didn’t happen. This was not for a lack of trying though, we froze and finally decided it wasn’t worth it!  We are planning another trip down this spring and I’m hoping it’ll be a little longer and we can add a few people to the trip!

So I made the decision to be a better blogger while we were on the trip.  I can’t wait to get to blogging!  You guys hold me accountable because I know I’ll cop out, me and my non compliant self!  I’m going to find some awesome stuff to blog about including monthly studio specials, maybe some of my favorite things, favorite Friday, and much more so stay tuned!

Because posts are boring without pictures here is one from the trip.

Merry Christmas!

I just wanted to take a minute to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! I’ll be back to blogging some of my favorite shots from 2009 next week sometime but I’m pretty sure I’ll be out of the “office” and literally the office until after Christmas!

This was my favorite Christmas card of the year.  Stella did such and amazing job and her mom Jessica was a great sport!  Thank you guys for giving me a wonderful Christmas shoot!

Susan, James and Willy, Wedding Day Sneak Peak

Yesterday wrapped up my amazing 2009 wedding season!  The wedding was beautiful, the weather was well rainy and freezing and Susan and James were so in love.  I prayed and prayed and sang for a White Wedding but that wasn’t in the plans for yesterday but it was amazing and there was no need for snow to make this day perfect.  Everything went without a hitch, seriously I’ve never had a bride and groom say I knew it would be perfect but I never thought it would be this perfect!  At the end of the day a horse (Willy) and carriage came and picked Susan, James and me up for a ride around downtown Raleigh.  Of course we stopped for some amazing photo opts at the capital and I thought I would share one with you all since I won’t get around to the blog until after Christmas!

I’ll be back to tell you all Merry Christmas in a day or two!

Susan ~ Beautiful Brides

Now that Susan is married I can share a few of her bridal portraits with you guys!  I adored her bridal shoot, I think it just may be my favorite studio shoot yet!  Here are a few of my favorites!
